We interrupt this regularly scheduled blog to take a Princess Moment.
As I’ve come to savor, a Princess Moment is a sliver of bliss specifically designed to explore an incredible hotel in a random city, sleep in a Heavenly Bed, and dissolve under the rapture of a hot shower. They are a brief interlude of femininity and reminder that I am indeed a woman and not just a glorified camper waving a perpetual ponytail flag.
I’ve said goodbye to my island family and floated away with pockets full of the serenity drops I’d hoped to collect. This place has a way of working out your demons and I find it astonishing, that even on holiday, relaxation can be a thorny pursuit. Ever-conditioned to move, move, move, it took the full two weeks of developing peace of mind, to stare at the sea with no agenda or compulsion to prioritize random thoughts.
Next up? Malaysia — I was in and out before blinking was an option.
Kuala Lumpur is a city built upon the center of the tropics. Lush greenery covers every square meter not occupied by a concrete tower. Munching mangosteen at the Central Market, avoiding knockoff handbags in Chinatown and craning my neck at the Twin Towers, it’s been a quick introduction to a metropolis that rivals the pace of any major Western city. More importantly, I re-energized my boogie-impetus while basking in the nest of cultured service and rolling around in my big, happy bed. Properly showered, shampooed and polished I am radiantly anticipating the third phase of this trip. Cambodia here we come!
This Princess Moment was brought to you by Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur.
